Financing for the acquisition of ships and infrastructure has always been an essential component of shipping and ports. The scarcity of public funds, the increasing competition at international and national level between shipowners and stopovers, and new aggressive state-owned protagonists, makes the subject extremely topical. The session will provide an overview over the new trends of this sector, from self-financing to the public-private partnerships up to new accesses to risk capitals.

The session is organized in collaboration with a well-known commentator from the sector.

Main Topics:

  • How technological innovation impacts over investors’ expected return
  • Private equity, Private debt, Club Finance
  • Public Market: is it attractive for Shipping and Maritime Industry?
  • New financing schemes: the role of “Chinese Leasing Companies” and ECAs (Export Credit Agencies)
  • The Infrastructure financing (Hard & Soft) and the role of Sovreign Wealth Funds
